Solar Charging Device

From portable radios to mobile phones: Electronic devices independent of grid-supplied power have the highest rates of growth in industry. All of these require batteries, but recharging them by solar means, something quite normal in satellite technology, could one day be the norm for consumer articles, as well. It is estimated that in Germany alone four nuclear power plants would be superfluous if all the electronic stand-by or stand-alone devices were fitted with photovoltaic cells and built in batteries or super-capacitors and if customary batteries were recharged with solar charging devices (for example, a thin-layer solar module).

Solar chargers that fit in every pocket and on every windowsill are on the market and cost about 60 €. They are equipped with interchangeable batteries and they are provided with an automatic charge controller. The corresponding adapter cables are also available for mobile phones and laptops.
