With 200 exhibitors from all over the world, Intersolar India is already fully booked: An impressive sign for the Indian solar industry, which is expected to move up to fourth place among the world’s top solar markets in 2016, following a projected 4–6 GW (gigawatts) of additional output.

Mumbai expects 9,500 visitors from November 18–20, 2015. The exhibition and the concurrent conference provide a platform for companies, investors, institutes and political representatives to share views and information about the challenges of India’s energy supply.

Prospects for India’s solar industry are sunny. The government plans to add an additional photovoltaics output of 100 GW by 2022.

This endeavor also enjoys German support: Low-interest loans worth one billion euros have been provided to support the expansion of photovoltaics in India.

Intersolar India is the perfect launch pad for achieving the country’s ambitious climate targets by bringing together companies, research institutions and investors to overcome the subcontinent’s challenges. The exhibition space is already fully booked, with a waiting list.

Conference builds on key issues for India’s solar expansion

In 2015, the conference boasts a range of illustrious speakers: As keynote speaker, Prof. Dr. Eicke R. Weber, director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in Freiburg, will discuss “The Role of Solar Energy in our Future, Renewables-based Energy System.”

Other conference presentations will cover the region’s growth targets and the developments on the Indian solar market. Energy storage, remote electricity supply, large-scale PV installations and project development and financing are also part of the program.
