Conergy builds 2.2MW solar PV park in northern Germany in record time
In the north of Brandenburg, 50 kilometers north-west of Berlin, the Hamburg-based solar experts have built a 2.2 megawatt solar park. In a record time of just six weeks, Conergy installed 27,300 solar photovoltaic (PV) modules on its own SolarLinea Conergy mounting systems on a total area of more than 11 football fields.
Annually the solar park produces 2,134 megawatts hours of clean solar electricity, which is fed into the grid with the help of 130 Conergy IPG 15 T inverters.
This can provide not only approximately 550 households with climate-friendly electricity, but also prevent nearly 1,400 tons of CO2 emissions.
The harsh winter threatened to put the timetable for the construction of the new solar park at risk. “Snow, ice and extreme cold posed huge challenges,” says Dr. Harald Winter, general manager of the project engineering company Helonius.
“However, despite the extreme conditions, Conergy managed to finish the solar park due to their great commitment in record time.”
Timely grid connection ensured a very lucrative feed-in tariff
Conergy project manager Lars Grönke adds: "Exceptional circumstances require exceptional measures: The team used Bunsen burners to free the mounting systems from inch thick ice. In addition, we strengthened the team on site in order to make headway on the large amount of work. This allowed us to meet the tight schedule and timely grid connection of the solar park - and thus ensure our customers a very lucrative feed-in tariff."
Third Conergy solar park in the north of Germany within 12 months
Once again, Conergy proves that solar energy plays an ever more important role in northern Germany. Already last year, the Hamburg-based solar experts celebrated the construction of the largest solar park in northern Germany, near Hörup – just to break its own record only weeks later with a 6 megawatt solar power plant in Tarp.
Together with strong local partners, Conergy is continuing to set the trend. “After our successful debut project with Conergy, we are talking about further future projects together,” says Dr. Harald Winter from Helonius.
