RMT selected to build 7.5MW-AC New Jersey PV plant

- The PV plant will use Suntech PV modules
On April 20th, 2011, a subsidiary of Hartz Mountain Industries Inc. (New York, New York, U.S.) announced that it has selected RMT Inc. (Madison, Wisconsin, U.S.) to design and construct a 7.5MW-AC solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in the U.S. state of New Jersey.
RMT states that it will begin construction on the Hamilton Solar Project in June 2011, and will have the facility commissioned in November 2011.
"Hartz Mountain is one of the largest privately-held real estate owners and developers in the U.S.," said RMT Chief Commercial Officer Dave Kutcher.
"They've successfully installed over 6MW of rooftop solar, and we look forward to helping them advance their Green Building and Sustainability Initiative by safely and efficiently constructing their first ground-mount, utility-scale solar facility."
Project to use 30,000 Suntech PV modules
RMT will be responsible for the engineering, procurement and construction of plant foundations and racking systems, PV modules, DC and AC collector systems, SCADA system, as well as testing and commissioning.
The project will be comprised of over 30,000 Suntech 280 Watt crystalline silicon PV modules.
RMT states that it is currently constructing eight utility-scale PV plants in New Jersey, totaling approximately 49MW-AC.
