On January 12th, 2012 Amonix Inc. (Seal Beach, California, U.S.) and its lead investor Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB, Menlo Park, California, U.S.) announced an interim management plan for Amonix, including the appointment of KPCB Partner Jan van Dokkum as interim CEO.
Amonix's Board of Directors has hired an executive search firm and established a search committee to find a permanent CEO. These changes follow the accidental death of Amonix CEO Brian Robertson on December 22nd, 2011.
"The passing of Brian Robertson is an unthinkable tragedy, and it is my goal to succeed him and provide strong leadership and direction for the Amonix team," said incoming Amonix CEO van Dokkum.
"I am committed to continuing Amonix’ success in offering the world’s most efficient CPV systems for utility-scale installations domestically and internationally."
Van Dokkum serves at UTC Power for seven years
Amonix describes Robertson as a solar pioneer, noting that his experience included co-founding SunEdison LLC (Beltsville, Maryland, U.S.). Robertson joined Amonix when the company acquired Sunworks Solar LLC (San Francisco, California, U.S.).
Amonix states that Jan van Dokkum brings a "wealth" of power experience to his role, including serving with UTC Power (South Windsor, Connecticut, U.S.) for seven years. At UTC Power van Dokkum was involved in the development of the company's on-site power generation products and services, including renewable power solutions.
Van Dokkum has also served as president and CEO of Siemens Power Transmission & Distribution Inc. (Wendell, North Carolina, U.S.).
