CSA opens new testing and certification lab in Shanghai

On January 10th, 2012 the Canadian Standards Association (CSA, Toronto, Canada) announced that it has opened a new testing and certification laboratory as well as expanding its product evaluation and consulting center in Shanghai, China.

The 2,600 square meter center is located in Qilai Industrial City, and will test a variety of products including power devices against Canadian, U.S. and other international standards.


"CSA is opening these new state-of-the-art, high-tech testing, certification and verification laboratories in China to better serve our growing Chinese clients," said CSA Group President and CEO Ash Sahi. "The timely opening of these new facilities is at the core of CSA's strategic global business plan to expand our localized service offerings."

"With an expanding manufacturing base and growing economy, one of CSA's key business strategies includes accelerating investments in LED, EEV, solar and photovoltaic and expanding its core services and businesses in the People's Republic of China."


CSA publishes more than 75 standards on renewable energy sources

The company states that its newly expanded  consumer Product Evaluation and Consulting Centre offers services that cover the entire life-cycle of a product, from design and factory evaluation through pre-shipment inspection and product comparison testing.

CSA notes that it has published more than 75 standards covering renewable energy sources including solar technologies, and can offer testing services to its Chinese customers in these industries.
