On January 10th, 2012 JinkoSolar Holding Company Ltd. (Shanghai, China) announced the incorporation of French subsidiary JinkoSolar SAS (Montpellier, France), as well as the opening of an office in Montpellier.
JinkoSolar says that its presence in France will support its local partners and complement the growth of the region's solar photovoltaic (PV) industry.
"Since JinkoSolar established its commercial presence in France in 2009, the French solar market has become one of our top targets in Europe," stated JinkoSolar Chairman David Li. "Our physical and legal presence in France is part of our strategy to establish a sustainable and long-term presence in this market."
"We have sold over 20 MW of modules in 2011 alone and by locating our office and subsidiary in the middle of what could be called the French Sun Belt in Montpellier, we are better able to serve our local partners and to anticipate the future of the PV market in France."
Office to be located in Montpellier International Business Incubator
JinkoSolar's French office will be located in the Montpellier International Business Incubator, which it says is the first energy-positive building in the Languedoc-Roussillon Region of France, including 700 square meters of PV modules.
The company notes that France recently opened tenders for large-scale PV projects.
