On January 9th, 2012 OPEL Solar Inc. (Shelton, Connecticut) announced that it has completed delivery of its TF-850 solar tracking systems to Global Energy Service USA (GES, Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, U.S.) to accompany 4.6 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) plants.

This sale was OPEL's largest in its history. The trackers will be used at a 2.32 MW PV plant in Palmdale, California and a 2.27 MW PV plant at 29 Palms, California, both of which are being built by GES for Gestamp Solar SL (Madrid, Spain).

"OPEL Solar is experiencing increasing success with the TF-800 series of tracker products," said OPEL CEO Leon M. Pierhal.

"Solar contractors and developers are using our market leading single axis tracker because it has a vast number of key unique features that enhance energy production and lower expense of solar fields."

TF-800 series offers ease of installation

OPEL states that its TF-800 series has distinguished itself in the single-axis tracker market by ease of installation and a reverse tracking ability to avoid shadowing from adjacent trackers.

These trackers also incorporate wireless tracker network control technology which allows for tracker-level monitoring. The company says that its TF-800 trackers can be assembled by two persons using only hand tools.
