PV Evolution Labs achieves ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation

- PVEL notes that the accreditation is recognized by international as well as U.S. organizations
On January 13th, 2012 PV Evolution Labs (PVEL, Berkeley, California, U.S.) announced that it has achieved ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation for its solar photovoltaic (PV) module testing and calibration services.
PVEL describes ISO 17025 accreditation as an important global standard for laboratories which provides a benchmark for approving technical and quality system competence, with a focus on continual process improvement.
"PVEL is committed to rigorous technical standards to help support solar’s technical advancement and movement into the mainstream," said PVEL Co-Founder and CEO Jenya Meydbray.
"The recognition associated with accreditation fosters PVEL’s mission and, in turn, the solar industry."
Accreditation recognized by international bodies
PVEL sought ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation through the American Association of Laboratory Accreditation.
This accreditation is recognized by the 107 signatories of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation and Asia-Pacific Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation, which the company says extends its credibility beyond the U.S. PV market.
