PV inverter producer Solectria Renewables expands workforce 65% in 2011

On January 11th, 2012 Solectria Renewables LLC (Lawrence, Massachusetts, U.S.) announced that it has increased its number of employees by 65% in 2011, with plans to expand more than 50% again in 2012.

The company states that it has been able to rapidly grow its customer base, and credits cost reductions, increasing inverter efficiencies and accelerated new product development.

“Solectria Renewables is proud of its persistent growth and expansion in North America and worldwide, especially during the worldwide economic decline," states Solectria Renewables CEO James Worden. "Currently, we have 25 open positions in various departments in North America."

"We will be adding sales, customer service, engineering and manufacturing positions in the coming months to also support our factories in the expanding Indian and Chinese markets."

 

Solectria to open factories in China, India

Solectria showed an impressive string of accomplishments in the final months of 2011. On October 19th, 2011 the company announced that it will open manufacturing plants in China and India with annual capacities of 300 and 200 MW of inverters, respectively.

A month earlier, on September 6th, Solectria announced that it has been awarded a USD 2.1 million contract with the U.S. Department of Energy to develop integrated smart-grid ready PV inverters with utility communications.
