CNPV customers qualify for 10% premium on Italian solar FITs; PV producer receives ISO CD14067 certification for mono, polycrystalline modules

On January 30th, 2012, CNPV Solar Power SA (Dongying City, Shandong Province, China), an integrated manufacturer of solar photovoltaic products, announced an external confirmation of significant European content within its polycrystalline modules, qualifying for an additional 10% premium on Italian feed in tariffs. The raw material and component testing was completed by the Institute of Industrial Certification for Mechanics (ICIM).
New FIT policy allows for a 10% premium for "Made in Europe" modules
"The updated Conto Energia IV feed-in tariff (FIT) policy, allows for a premium FIT payment for ‘Made in Europe’ modules. The amended Italian FIT policy ascribes the 10% premium payment when the EU made components contribute at least 60% of the cost of the PV system. It was therefore a matter of obtaining a confirming certificate for us to attain the 'Made in EU' insignia. It is particularly exciting when our decisions, such as raw material selection for technical superiority, can then provide further unforeseen external commercial benefits to our customers," CNPV's COO and CTO Bypina Veerraju Chaudary said.
CNPV’s modules receive ISO CD14067 certification
In addition, CNPV announced that it received a confirmation from TUEV Rheinland that the company’s mono and polycrystalline modules meet the International Organization of Standardization (ISO) CD14067.
The ISO CD14067 standard incorporates ISO 14040:2006, ISO 14044:2006, and PAS2050:2011. It delivers a numerical CO2 value generated from both manufacture and through the life cycle of the product over a period of 100 years. The evaluation process includes raw materials evaluation, conversion processes, manufacturing burdens, in use variations of the product and final degradation.
