On February 1st, 2012 Clean Power Finance (San Francisco, California, U.S.) announced that its residential solar photovoltaic (PV) financing options are now available in the U.S. states of Colorado, Massachusetts, and New Jersey.

The company's solar leases and power purchase agreements (PPAs) were initially available only in California, and the company offers installation customers the ability to brand and market these solutions as their own.

"We are committed to growing the residential solar market and believe that making competitive financing products available to companies selling solar is crucial to industry growth this year and beyond," said Clean Power Finance SVP of Worldwide Sales Robert Prigge.

"Solar PPAs and leases have emerged as the driving force behind residential solar sales. Our expansion into new markets underscores demand by solar companies for our finance products, which they can brand and market to homeowners."

Offer of non-exclusive leases and PPAs

Clean Power Finance began offering its solar financing solutions in April 2011, and states that it currently facilitates as much as USD 1 million in residential solar project financings per day.

The company notes that it offers installers access to a variety of residential solar finance products through its CPF Tools software. The company's leases and PPAs are non-exclusive, which offers installers the ability to use them in conjunction with other finance products.

In September 2011, Clean Power Finance and Google Inc. (Mountain View, California, U.S.) announced the creation of a USD 75 million fund to finance residential PV projects.
