On January 31st, 2012 SMA Solar Technology America LLC (Rocklin, California, U.S.) announced that select U.S.-manufactured Sunny Central inverters are available for immediate order, including its Sunny Central Compact Power (CP) line and Sunny Central 500HE-US inverters.

These inverters are assembled in SMA's Denver, Colorado, U.S. manufacturing facility, and meet the guidelines of the "Buy American" provision in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) for projects which receive federal financial assistance.

"The addition of the Sunny Central CP line and the Sunny Central 500HE-US completes our portfolio of ARRA-compliant inverters," said SMA America General Manager Jurgen Krehnke.

"Now installers can specify the industry’s most durable, reliable and efficient inverters for all project sizes - residential, commercial and utility-scale - while satisfying ARRA’s Buy American Clause."

Sunny Central 500HE-US offers 98.6% efficiency

SMA also manufactures ARRA-compliant Sunny Boy inverters in 3KW - 8KW sizes at the Denver facility.

SMA's Sunny Central CP line includes its Sunny Central 500CP, 630CP, 720CP, 760CP and 800CP inverters, which won the Intersolar Award 2010 in the photovoltaics category.

The company also notes that its Sunny Central 500HE-US offers a maximum efficiency of 98.6%.
