On February 7th, 2012, Solectria Renewables LLC (Lawrence, Massachusetts, U.S.) announced that it will supply its SMARTGRID inverters (SGI) for the 1.65 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) array to be installed at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is the largest rooftop installation in Utah as well as the largest convention center installation in North America.
Solar array to produce 2.4 megawatt hours per year
Solectria Renewables will supply its SGI 500 & 300 commercial and utility-scale inverters to Bella Energy (Louisville, Colorado, U.S.), a commercial solar engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company. The solar array due to the press release will produce about 2.4 megawatt hours (MWh) of electricity per year, eliminating more than 4.3 million pounds of CO2 per year.
“The Salt Palace Convention Center project demonstrates the opportunities of rooftop installations throughout the United States,” Solectria Renewables President Phil Vyhanek said.
“The progression from small to large rooftop installations has accelerated over the past few years. Solectria Renewables is proud to be part of Salt Lake City’s commitment to renewable energy.”
