On February 13th, 2012 Trina Solar Ltd. (Changzhou, China) announced that its multicrystalline silicon solar photovoltaic (PV) modules manufactured with European-sourced silicon wafers have been certified to receive a 10% feed-in tariff premium in Italy.

ICIM SpA (Milan, Italy) granted the "Made in EU" certification following the inspection of two factories and two tests of final products. Trina Solar notes that these modules comply with the most recent rule revisions made in December 2011 by Gestore Servizi Energetici SpA (Rome, Italy), which manages the feed-in tariff.

"We are very pleased to announce that we have successfully passed all inspections and we have received the certificate from ICIM," said Trina Solar Vice President, Europe Ben Hill.

"Trina Solar is a global leading solar company offering high quality products with an industry-leading warranty. Customers buying our modules benefit from a combination of superior product quality, top warranty and highly attractive yield."

Products certified by GSE include TSM-PC05, TSM-PC05.08-.18, and TSM-PC14 PV modules. All of these modules including the TSM PC 05A received product certification by ICIM which states that the modules have been tested to CEI/EN 61215 and CEI/EN 61730, and will carry the ICIM factory inspection logo.
