On November 13th, 2012, Sustainable Energy Technologies Ltd. (Calgary, Canada) announced that it has completed installation of the first Solar Frontier Americas (Santa Clara, California, U.S.) residential solar photovoltaic (PV) system using Paralex energy optimizing technology.

The system was installed in the Alberta foothills, using Solar Frontier's high performance CIS modules with Paralex inverters.

Developed jointly by Solar Frontier Americas and Sustainable Energy for the U.S. residential and small commercial market, the bundled solution will offer the highest level of shade tolerance in the industry and provide complete layout flexibility when tiling the roof, Sustainable Energy emphasizes. It delivers maximum energy per square foot as well as industry leading aesthetic appearance, Sustainable Energy adds.

The Paralex/Solar Frontier system due to the producer integrates parallel DC wiring into each module to achieve the same flexibility and performance as AC modules using micro-inverters, but without requiring any electronics on the module. The result is lower cost and lower risk for the customer, the company explains.

"This package brings the simplicity of AC module layout and installation to Solar Frontier's high efficiency CIS modules without the cost of module-integrated electronics. This is where the industry is headed to drive out soft balance of system costs and offer a better looking installation. We are very excited and looking forward to helping to open new opportunities for Solar Frontier in the residential and small commercial rooftop market," Sustainable Energy Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Brent Harris stated.
