Trina Solar obtains UL's Client Test Data Program certification
On November 15th, 2012, Trina Solar Ltd. (Changzhou, China) announced that it has received the Client Test Data Program (CTDP) certification from Underwriters Laboratories (UL).
Trina Solar became the first solar photovoltaic (PV) company to be awarded the CTDP certification. Thus the company goes one step beyond the witness test data program (WTDP).
"Trina Solar's collaboration with UL will further the quality and reliability of our products. Being the first PV company to receive the CTDP certification is an important milestone in the development of Trina Solar. It affirms that our testing staff, standards and capabilities are of the highest caliber in the PV industry," stated Zhiguo Zhu, senior vice president and president of Trina Solar's module business unit.
The CTDP certification allows Trina Solar's Changzhou Photovoltaic (PV) Testing Center to participate in the client test data program. The company is now able to independently conduct testing programs and to issue UL recognized test data without requiring the on-site presence of UL dispatched engineers.
In conjunction with the certification, UL and Trina Solar have signed a framework agreement to strengthen collaboration.
Trina Solar's testing center, encompassing a total area of over 7000 square meters, supports product certification, material reliability testing, highly accelerated aging test, and a comprehensive range of test material evaluation and research. Testing capabilities cover PV product testing standards including IEC61215, IEC61730 and UL1703.
