The Gannawarra Shire Council in the Australian state of Victoria has approved Eco for Life's (Wodonga, Australia) plans for a 30 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in the rural town of Kerang, Victoria.
The USD 39 million plant will occupy 36 hectares and is expected to produce 52 GWh of electricity annually. Eco for Life expects to begin work in mid-2013, with construction to last roughly 14 months.

"Council looks forward to further developments in the renewable energy sector."
The council further notes that the project is likely to provide significant economic and service opportunities for Kerang.
