Yingli ups 4Q, full year solar PV shipment predictions

- Yingli became the world's largest PV module manufacturer in 2012
Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Ltd. (Baoding, China) has released selected preliminary information for the fourth quarter and full year 2012, reporting a sharp increase in solar photovoltaic (PV) module shipments.
Yingli estimates a 40% increase in PV module shipments over the third quarter, and expects full year shipments to reach 2.3 GW. However, the company also expects its gross margin to fall to between -8% and -8.5%, due to a non-cash inventory provision and a depreciation expense related to reduced capacity utilization.
Yingli became largest PV module manufacturer in 2012
Yingli's fourth quarter shipments are much larger than previously predicted, and its full year shipments are expected to make it the world's largest PV module manufacturer by volume shipped.
The company will release full fourth quarter and full year 2012 results on March 4th, 2013.
