Amtech discloses previously announced large solar order from Yingli’s 300 MW PANDA mono-crystalline expansion project
Amtech Systems, Inc. (Tempe, Arizona), a global supplier of production and automation systems and related supplies for the manufacture of solar cells, semiconductors, and silicon wafers, on March 11th, 2010 disclosed that its previously announced large solar order is from Yingli Green Energy Holding Co., Ltd. (Yingli; Baoding, China).
According to the press release, the Yingli order is for fully automated diffusion furnace systems to be used in Yingli’s 300 megawatt (MW) PANDA mono-crystalline expansion project. These orders are scheduled to ship from the beginning of the second quarter through the end of the third in 2010. J.S. Whang, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Amtech, commented: “This large order from Yingli is a result of the successful high efficiency cell collaboration project we announced in a press release last June among Yingli, the Energy Research Centre of the Netherlands (ECN) and Tempress Systems, Amtech’s solar subsidiary, to develop next generation high efficiency solar cells. We are very pleased to be an essential part of the PANDA project and to receive such a significant follow-on order from one of the world’s leading vertically integrated photovoltaic product manufacturers.”
