On June 9th, 2010, Intersolar Europe presented the Intersolar AWARD International Technology Prize to nine companies judged to provide the top technological innovations in the solar industry. Three entries were selected by juries in each of three categories: Photovoltaics (PV), solar thermal, and, for the first time this year, PV production technology. This is the third year that Intersolar has presented these awards, and for the first time the competition was open to exhibitors at Intersolar North America as well.

"Intersolar Europe is the world's largest exhibition for the solar industry and the most influential forum for innovative technologies and services in the fields of photovoltaics and solar thermal technology", read a statement by Intersolar Europe. "It therefore serves as a gauge of innovative power within the solar industry. In awarding the prize, organizers Solar Promotion GmbH and Freiburg Wirtschaft Touristik und Messe GmbH & Co. KG (FWTM), in cooperation with the German Solar Industry Association (BSW-Solar), wish to create an incentive for companies to play an active role in shaping the future of sustainable energy supply."

Intersolar says the competition had 2,300 entries this year. The competition was juried by three independent juries, whose members were made up of experts from research, science, industry and trade media. The winning companies and the product that represented the winning entry are listed below.
