On September 7th, 2010 Advanced Energy Industries Inc. (Fort Collins, Colorado, US) announced that it has achieved the highest market share for solar photovoltaic (PV) inverters of any company in North America, citing recent report by IMS Research Ltd. (Wellingborough, England) which estimates that Advanced Energy holds 24% of the continent's PV inverter market. The company, which manufactures inverters in multiple scales from small residential to utility-scale, says that this is a more than two-fold increase in market share over the last two years. "Our number one market share position represents a critical milestone for our inverter business", said Advanced Energy CEO Dr. Hanz Betz. "Our performance over the past year has been bolstered by both the introduction of innovative new products, as well as an acquisition strategy. Advanced Energy now offers customers a complete portfolio of inverter solutions to address the entire power range needs of the market. We are committed to continuous innovation in this space, as we continue to expand our product portfolio and capabilities for our customers."

Advanced Energy says that its Solaron and PV Powered Inverters are designed for a lifespan of more than 20 years. The company also states that its inverters are guaranteed for 99% up-time through its SiteGuard whole-site operation and maintenance (O&M) service program.
