Neo Solar Power signs long-term solar wafer supply agreement with Osung LST

- Neo Solar has announced that it will increase its annual cell capacity to 1.2GW in 2011
On November 22, 2010 Neo Solar Power Corporation (NSP, Hsinchu, Taiwan) announced that it has signed a three-year wafer supply contract with Osung LST Company, Limited (Asan, South Korea). Under the terms of the contract, Osung LST will supply 31.25 million silicon wafers to NSP from 2011 through the end of 2013. "Osung LST is a newcomer in Korea's wafer industry, signing this contract is a major step towards a stable, long-term strategic partnership between NSP and Osung LST," stated NSP Chairman Dr. Quincy Lin. "NSP's 2011 orders have reached beyond capacity; lately we have been signing contracts with both polysilicon and wafer suppliers to increase the stability of our long-term material supply in order to fulfill the strong demands from our customers."
NSP has announced plans to increase its annual solar photovoltaic (PV) cell output capacity to 800MW by the end of 2010, and to over 1.2GW in 2011. Taiwan boasts one of the world's largest solar photovoltaic (PV) manufacturing industries, with a particularly strong position in cell manufacturing. On November 8, 2010, fellow Taiwanese cell manufacturer Motech Industries (Shenkeng Hsiang, Taiwan) announced that it had shipped 102MW of PV cells in the month of October 2010, and has reached production capacities of 1.15 GW annually.
