New production line for Solarwatt AG: Bürkle supplies largest laminators for PV modules worldwide

- "Ypsator" Multi-opening laminationllines by Bürkle
When Solarwatt AG in Dresden (Germany) installs a fully automatic production line for the manufacture of crystalline solar modules at the beginning of next year, one of the technical highlights will be delivered by Robert Bürkle GmbH (Freudenstadt, Germany). Bürkle offers press and surface technologies for different industries worldwide. Two multi-opening lamination lines "Ypsator" will encapsulate the individual module components in the production line which has been planned and designed by the automation specialist Kuka Systems in Augsburg, Germany.
According to Bürkle after a planning and testing phase which took six months, Solarwatt AG and Kuka Systems decided in favour of a globally unique line concept with two simultaneously operated ten-opening laminators delivered by the pioneer of multi-opening lamination Bürkle.
Solarwatt to double current production capacity to 300 MWp
The main advantage of this innovative multi-opening solution: this line configuration makes it possible to laminate a solar module every 28 seconds in a 3-shift operation on a footprint of only 100 m², Bürkle reports in the press release. Such a high throughput on this small footprint is globally unique up to now, the company emphasizes. The multi-opening laminators of a height of 4.20 m each and a weight of approx. 100 tons are currently tested in the production site in Freudenstadt and the lines will be despatched still before Christmas. According to Bürkle this line will double the current production capacity of Solarwatt AG to 300 MWp.
