Chinese PV producer Trina Solar retains top rank on SVTC's Solar Scorecard

Trina Solar Limited (Changzhou, China) on August 22nd, 2013, announced it has maintained its No. 1 global ranking for environmental and social performance in the 2013 Solar Scorecard, an award system established by the Silicon Valley Toxics Coalition (SVTC).

Solar Scorecard provides information on environmentally and socially responsible PV manufacturers

SVTC's Solar Scorecard aims to improve PV manufacturers' environmental and social practices and promotes improved environmental reporting in the industry. It enables commercial, government and residential purchasers of PV modules to make informed purchases and choose environmentally and socially responsible PV manufacturers.

In the 2013 Scorecard, Trina Solar ranked highly for its chemical reduction plan and low PV module toxicity as well as its commitment to worker rights, health and safety. The Company was also recognized for its extended producer responsibilities and its efforts to collect and recycle end-of-life PV modules.
