SolarPower Europe, the new EPIA, on June 25th, 2015 kicked off a continent wide campaign to get people from all over Europe involved in the call for more solar power in Europe!

“The potential of solar energy is already being unlocked today, and our cost-competitiveness progresses faster and faster every year,” commented Oliver Schaefer, President of SolarPower Europe.

“There are no technologies that can match our continued and considerable cost reductions for power generation. Policymakers, celebrities and citizens are already backing a solar powered Europe,” he added.

The new SolarPower Europe website also launched on June 25th, and CEO James Watson enthused: “Reflecting our re-branding, we needed a new base to spread the positive news about solar in Europe. But, we can’t do this alone and so we are inviting you all to take part in our online campaign: I want a solar powered Europe.”

The objective of the campaign is to improve awareness of the benefits and potential of solar power with the public and policymakers.

Everyone can get involved by sending comments to Twitter and Facebook, or submitting pictures showing that you support “I want a solar powered Europe”.
