Yesterday, the foundation stone for the "Center for High-Efficiency Solar Cells" was laid in Freiburg.

With its infrastructure, the center will, on the one hand, replace the aging-requiring clean room for solar cell development and, on the other hand, prepare it for future solar cell generations. "We are very pleased that this new clean room facility will enable us to adapt the infrastructure for photovoltaic research to the new technological challenges," says ISE-Manager Dr. Andreas Bett.

The Bundesregierung and the state Baden-Württemberg provide a total of 32.6 million euros for the project center. Completion is scheduled for the end of 2019.
