Fronius has received the MTP Gold Medal Award at the Polish GreenPower trade fair for this latest offering. The prize is awarded for outstanding innovation and highlights the pioneering role of Fronius in the development of solar technology.

Energy sector integration is coming increasingly to the fore in the generation and use of renewable energy. In order to efficiently harness the effects of synergies, the electricity, heating and transport sectors are growing closer together. To facilitate such collaboration, solar technology specialist Fronius has developed the Fronius Ohmpilot – a solution that allows water to be heated from excess electricity. With this technology, owners of photovoltaic systems will be able to improve their rate of self-consumption while also cutting costs.

The main areas of application are heating elements in boilers and buffer tanks, but infra-red heaters and heated towel rails are also compatible. With the Ohmpilot it is even possible to control two heating elements. Communication takes place via the WLAN, LAN, or Modbus RTU universal interfaces.
